An Armenian bride may wear
a red silk wedding gown on
her wedding day. Her headpiece
is usually made of cardboard,
shaped into wings and covered
with feathers.
After the wedding ceremony,
the bride and groom enter
the reception site under an
arch formed by the bridesmaids
and groomsmen, who line up
with each other and hold their
flowers aloft. A pair of doves
are released, symbolizing
love and happiness. Wedding
guests throw coins at the
bride during the wedding reception.
