KARACHI: The
world is experiencing the
longest partial solar eclipse
including Pakistan after
about 1,000 years
A partial solar eclipse
is being observed in Pakistan
today and it is the first
solar eclipse of 2010.
Experts in
Pakistan have warned the
common people not to look
at the sun without appropriate
shielding. It may cause
permanent blindness, if
precautionary measures are
avoided.
This partial
solar eclipse will be seen
in China, Sri Lanka, India
and other parts of the world.

Longest
Solar Eclipse In 1,000 Years
The solar
eclipse in Pakistan will
be experienced at about
12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
“Don’t
look at the sun directly.
It will damage your power
of seeing. People should
avoid looking at the sun.
It is not a fun. Dark sun
glasses can be used, if
people want to see the nature,”
advised Dr Imran Bhutt.
But Pakistani
religious scholar, Mufti
Muneeb-ur Rehman advised
people that they should
offer special prayers during
the time of eclipse.
The renowned
astronomist, SU Chaudhri
alias Mamoon, said that
this solar eclipse will
bring some negative changes
in the region where the
eclipse is being experienced.
“This is a big eclipse
and it may bring some big
natural disasters in the
region,” he added.
